I am a student of nature and life and art and line and form, happiest when I am creating. I've explored many different media, but coming to silversmithing was like coming home.

The smithing is still relatively new (started class in Jan '09), but after 30 years of watching my father blacksmithing (and doing a bit of that myself) I was already familiar with how metal moves and the concepts behind it. Learning to use the chasing tools was like learning to use a pencil or a paintbrush – just takes practice.

Influenced and inspired by Art Nouveau, Celtic art, and aboriginal art from around the globe, I've developed a distinctive design style of my own and am very much enjoying translating my style into this new media.
